I always have moments where I feel like shit and everything I draw is shit and I think, ‘GOOD GOD WHAT AM I EVEN DOING HERE?!?!’ But then a few days later something will click creatively and all hell breaks loose. When you’re in a state of melancholic sorrow just do something you love or take some time to do absolutely nothing at all. It is only when you’re relaxed that a creative spark will fly.

PS. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Underscore for organising The U Symposium again this year. I missed last year’s but I’m so glad I made it for this one. Yesterday’s session at LaSalle College of the Arts featuring talks by Cereal‘s co-founder and editor Rosa Park, Offscreen‘s editor/creative director Kai Brach, Claudia Wu, creative director of Cherry Bombe, The Happy Reader‘s EIC Seb Emina and Underscore‘s own Justin Long was incredibly enlightening and inspiring. So looking forward to today’s line-up. x
