I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover…
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a very low maintenance gal especially when it comes to make-up and grooming. My mantra is: The simpler the better. On a regular day, all I need is a tube of Pure Paw Paw — a natural, no colour, multi-use ointment. If memory serves, the last time I wore a bold, bright lip, Obama was still POTUS (oh, better days!). I remember it to be a shocking pink Chanel which is now somewhere on a shelf at home collecting dust instead of compliments. (What would Marie Kondo say? 🙊)
One balmy day a few weeks ago, I inherited three glossy white pots of Eve Lom’s new Kiss Mix lip balm. I must admit, I was quite excited. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I’d be lying if I said pretty packaging has zero impact on me. And then they have cute names, too. I mean! So now, do I choose my favourite lip balm by her colour or personality? Miss Cheeky, Miss Demure or Miss Lippy? I know, at the end of the day, looks aren’t everything. As Maggie Lindemann says, not just a pretty girl, right? Happy to report then that these cuties are as functional as they are good looking. They deliver their promise to moisturise and give my lips a subtle touch of colour, gloss and a refreshing tingly mintiness like I’m nibbling on a slice of After Eight chocolate.
OK, time to choose: Miss Cheeky, you’re my favourite lippy.
